The detractors have raised the filler card as a way to play down the actual merits of episode 2.
The word “filler” usually bring up horrible memories of Dragon Ball, Filler Moon, Filler Kenshin and Naruto. Minami-ke Okawari sit on the border between bad (Fuyuki) and average (it have its moment but it is weighted down by its bad) filler.
