Is it some kind of fucking joke? My pre-renewal Knight hit 183 ASPD with 80 AGI and 2HQ, 80 AGI pre-renewal would be something like 100-110 in Renewal.

We get -15 ASPD penalty for wielding a shield, that is the heaviest penalty of all class. We are talking about a class designed, from afar, after knights in real world. In other words, professional and trained soldiers. To add to the injury, its specialization, two-handed swords, get mediocre to average ASPD. We are talking again about a character class supposed to be WARRIORS, not your pencil-armed scholar. I am really starting to believe that someone, in the Gravity staff, hates the Knight class with a burning passion.

To give you an idea, Guilltone Cross class (the assassin evolution) can hit 180 with as much AGI as the RK in the screenshots AND less buffs than a Rune Knight.

As a AGI Knight player, I am MORE than angry here. I am even more angry when others serves me the LOL FRENZY argument. It’s fucking bullshit, no LK/RK in his right mind would activate Frenzy unless he knows he is going to die and that he needs an extra boost before the death. Moreover, Frenzy get OWNED by Dispell. So, here you go FRENZY and suddenly LOL you are down to 0SP and 1HP.

Then I read “lol get a ASPD song Minstrel”. Are you fucking kidding me? Have you seen the current party mentality of RO? Even with Renewal, it have not changed that much.

Just remember when the 3rd classes were announced:

“Looks like a fast attacking type.”

BOLDED AND UNDERSCORED.

What do we have now? Our class, two-handed swords specialists, HAVE TO DISARM THEMSELVES AND PUNCH THE FOES TO HOPE TO REACH 190 ASPD! What kind of shit is that? Seriously, fuck, I want to be able to hit 180ish ASPD with at least 90-100 base AGI with 2hQ and berserk potion SOLO. Hitting 190 with frenzy only serve to ice the cake. Leave the 190-193 ASPD to the extreme ASPD Full AGI High Dex RKs!

What we knight players get now is the equivalent of being bitchslapped while we are all chained, gagged and shackled.

Fuck that.

Among the good news, Sanae is a Good Girl playable and bombs as we knew them from EoSD ARE BACK.

Yeah, and Sanae is a good girl. Apparently we are having three playable characters. I somehow wished for Sakuya to be in, if not for matching the top 4 of the Touhou 6th Saimoe. But having the Wind Priestess joining the gang is a BIG recognition. I guess the effort of doujin artists have paid.
Not if only she joins Scarlet Weather Rhapsody in a patch…

It opened the 30th of October. So, it was yesterday for us Europeans, as I post.

Today, Tuesday September 30, the Valkyrie server officially takes flight with its Grand Opening!

The Free to access Valkyrie server is now the base International Ragnarok Online server. With Valkyrie`s rates for Experience and Drops set to 100% normal RO values, we welcome all those heroes that may have hung up their adventuring cloak due to monetary issues in making a month to month subscription.

In addition to our Valkyrie server opening, our Premium servers, Chaos, Loki, and Iris, also have received an update today. All Premium servers will enjoy a permanent rates update to 125% Experience and Drops from the normal RO values.

Today marks the begining of a new era for Ragnarok Online, `Thank You` to all of you that have always made RO your home, and `Welcome` to all you who are just starting our your journey with us!

Here, they changed the nerfs that would turn off the kiddies. It’s a 100% drop/exp server, for free. It’s pretty much the old servers, only you don’t have to pay. Instead, you get *1.25 increase for playing on Chaos/Loki/Iris.

Of course, this new have not come without the huge amount of moaning, whining and bitching. “Oh noes, RO is old, WoW gonna eat it whole and the RO servers gonna close!”
Guess what? the game did not close. It did not stop the fanboys from coming in the RO players turf to take a piss on them. This mentality is quite similar to the Tekken or Soul Calibur fanboys, coming to see the 2D fighting games players to tell them “y du u play dis? it sux itz twodee!!! it muss sux! plz soulcalibur better gals has big bewbz!!”

Let’s not talk about the RO players themselves, never satisfied with any decision ever. First with the kafra shop:

- “oh noes fucking kiddies going to buy fuckload of manual and gums to get more exp and drop!!!” QQ

- “Oh noes, my hats I so long sought!” QQ

Guess what? The kafra shop is occasionally used by the same little hypocritical bitches.

Then, the Renewal test server on kRO:

- “Oh noes they are adding a fixed cast time!!! No more insta SG!! *whine*”

And when it comes to the free server:

- “It better be x1.0 or something like that because 0.75% is retarded!”

And here it comes and it is unnerfed:

- “Oh noes!!! It is x1.0!! Oh noes!!! RO IS DYIIIIING ;___;”

Yup, you heard it right.

International Ragnarok Online server, known under the acronym “iRO”, have opened a free server.

However, a lot of things in this free server are nerfed. Halved EXP (not really a problem for the veterans), more severe penalty on death. BUT, if one is willing to pay, they gain access to exclusive kafra shop item, alterated exp rate and monster drop, and many more. Gravity is aiming to attract more players, but they also expect some people to pay for the extras. This was already tested on Korea Ragnorok Online “Baphomet” server. And last time I heard about it, it scored a nice success.

Now, with the Ragnarok Online Renewal that aim to remake the game mechanisms and rebalance things, one can hope a renewed life in an outdated game. And no, I don’t like WoW.

BANGKOK (Reuters) – A Thai video game distributor halted sales of “Grand Theft Auto” on Monday after a teenager confessed to robbing and murdering a taxi driver while trying to recreate a scene from the controversial game.

“We are sending out requests today to outlets and shops to pull the games off their shelves and we will replace them with other games,” Sakchai Chotikachinda, sales and marketing director of New Era Interactive Media, told Reuters.

“We are also urging video game arcades to pull the games from service,” Sakchai said. An 18-year-old high school student, now in custody pending further investigations and a trial, faces death by lethal injection if found guilty of robbing and killing a 54-year-old taxi driver with a knife at the weekend.

Police said the youth, an obsessive player of “Grand Theft Auto”, showed no sign of mental problems during questioning and had confessed to committing the crime because of the game.

“He said he wanted to find out if it was as easy in real life to rob a taxi as it was in the game,” chief police investigator Veeravit Pipattanasak told Reuters.

The youth, described by his parents as polite and diligent, was arrested late on Saturday after he was found trying to steer a cab backwards out of a Bangkok street with the severely wounded driver in the back seat, newspapers reported.

The suspect told police he did not mean to kill the driver, whom he had chosen as a possible victim because of his age, but that he stabbed him to death when he fought back, newspapers reported.

“Grand Theft Auto”, now available in its fourth edition, has been criticized for depicting violence including beatings, carjackings, drive-by shootings, drunk driving and prostitution.

A senior official at Thailand’s Culture Ministry said the murder was a wake-up call for authorities to tackle the issue of violent video games, and urged parents to pay closer attention to what their children played.

“This time-bomb has already exploded and the situation could get worse,” Ladda Thangsupachai, director of the ministry’s Cultural Surveillance Centre, told Reuters. “Today it is a cab driver, but tomorrow it could be a video game shop owner.”

The ministry has been pushing for tougher regulation of video games such as Grand Theft Auto, including the imposition of a rating system on sales and restriction on hours that youngsters can play the games in public arcades.

A multi-million dollar lawsuit was filed in the U.S. state of Alabama against the makers and marketers of Grand Theft Auto in 2005, claiming that months of playing the game led a teenager to kill two police officers and a 911 dispatcher.

The blockbuster Grand Theft Auto games are published by Nasdaq-listed Take-Two Interactive Software.

I don’t think I should be blaming the game. I can credit GTA4 for being one of the most immersive games of these last years.

However, such games require a lot of distancing, in the psychological way, from the players. A similar situation that the P&PRPG player communities has gone through when some of them has lost contact with the reality.

It just did not help you put Star Wars characters in, but then there are this!

It’s hard for me to take this franchise seriously anymore. This kind of shit makes Troy and 300 look manly. And suddenly oppai calibur doesn’t sound as bad anymore:

I don’t mind the oppai that much, especially after being hammered in the head that I am an irredeemable, heartless pig by the feminazsi and the DFC loving crowd.

Many people will argue about if Soul Calibur has jumped the shark or not, and if yes, when. One thing is sure in my eyes, the sense of wonderment I has felt when I played Soul Calibur on my Dreamcast is now gone and have left place to skepticism.
